I used to live in Leicester and I always looked forward to eating in Mrs Bridge's tea room! I now live miles away but I make a point of going back every few months because the food is that good!

The food is wonderful and made by an expert who clearly has an excellent palette, my recomendation is especially for the desserts which are truly worth every calorie in them!

I also find the staff to be lovely and warm and I cannot believe that the bill is so low when it comes for the quiality of the food and service you get it really is incredible!

I am gutted that there is not one nearer to me!

Having visited the tearooms more recently than the main review,
We found that the menu had been updated to include an excellent looking three course menu (try salad of poached salmon, pear and salted broad bean or pan fried plaice with prawn and caper butter)
and the return of the afternoon tea.
We opted for the afternoon tea which came on an antique cake stand bulging over with goodies.
After we had finished our finger sandwiches (four each with various fillings) we set about demolishing the selection of homemade cakes and clotted cream spread scones on offer.
Beautifully rich and presented it is the little touches that shine here like the silver fork given to eat with, the fresh raspberry sauce on the side or the fact that when we asked for more tea it was presented without extra charge.
I have been eating the desserts in Mrs Bridges for a while now, especially the caramel tart with bananas, and at a cost of just £12 for two people me and my partner found the after noon tea to be one of the best find in leicester and something we look forward to enjoying again.
